Dear Family and Friends
This has been a “Stay-within-the-US” year.
We had fun in May traveling, chasing offspring and memories.
- Watched granddaughter Ellie row for IU at Big-Ten rowing meet at Columbus
- Visited granddaughters Rachel and Emily and sister Ruth Smith in DC
- Roy’s Wheaton College class of ’49 in their 60th reunion
- Grandsons’ graduations: Luke from Macalester College and Philip from Albuquerque High.
Over July 4 weekend we had a reunion of the majority (30) of our immediate family.
If you have good eyesight and memory you can identify them on the attached photo. Or you can check the family tree text.
We had a pleasant three days “just us 2”, exploring fall-colorful northern NM.
We enjoy “spectating” our grandkids in drama, rugby, academics and just growing up.
Working grandkids are variously into: Foreign Service, tourism, horsemanship, medical advocacy, administration, marketing and admirable parenting.
The Lord has given us continuing good health, a perfect home and three of our families living in town. In February we will be in Kenya to speak at a medical conference, followed by visits to family in Tanzania.
May this Jesus season bring His blessing to you and yours. May the New Year bring for each one of us some opportunity to help “tilt things” in a better way.
Roy and Betty
